Brooke’s beloved father, Dr. Vernon R. Alford Jr., transitioned in 2020 after a battle with cancer. A dedicated education leader for more than 40 years, Vernon was also a passionate musician and entertainer.
After retiring, Vernon fulfilled a lifelong dream of recording an album. With Brooke’s support, By Request was released in 2019, less than a year before his passing.
In his honor, Brooke established The Dr. Vernon R. Alford Jr. Purpose-Filled Life Fund (The PFL Fund) to support young creatives pursuing their artistic and educational goals.
Proceeds from By Request support The PFL Fund, providing monetary awards to young creatives to further their studies.
